Remote Asynchronous Learning Plan

At times when students cannot safely attend school in person, our school may transition to Remote Asynchronous Learning. This model allows students to continue learning from home through pre-prepared materials, printed packets, and communication with their teachers, without attending live virtual classes. Our goal is to ensure that learning remains meaningful, connected, and accessible for every student, even during unexpected disruptions. Below you will find important information and answers to commonly asked questions to help families navigate remote learning days with confidence.

Brogden Middle School remains dedicated to providing every student with high-quality, meaningful learning experiences, whether in the school building or at home. Our asynchronous remote learning plan is built on equitable access, strong communication, and ongoing support for academic growth.

Support Services for Exceptional Children and Multilingual Learners

Brogden Middle School is committed to ensuring that all students—including Exceptional Children (EC) and Multilingual Learners (ML/ESL)—continue receiving appropriate support during asynchronous remote learning days. Our instructional approach prioritizes equity, access, and alignment with district expectations.

During Remote Asynchronous Learning Days at Brogden Middle School:

  • Since we utilize a paper packet–only model, EC and ESL teachers will collaborate with general education teachers to ensure packets reflect students’ IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications.

  • Packets will include previously taught content to support skill reinforcement and independent practice.

  • EC and ESL teachers will provide individualized or small-group follow-up support using email, Rooms, or phone calls when families have access.

  • When needed, modified or supplemental materials will be sent directly to students and families to ensure alignment with student needs.

  • EC services will continue to align with the instructional requirements outlined in each student’s IEP.

  • EC staff will follow up with assigned students through the most accessible communication method available to ensure ongoing support.
