DPS Student Device Program Overview
Durham Public Schools provides a Chromebook to every K–12 student as part of its 1:1 technology initiative, designed to support personalized learning at school and at home. This program promotes digital literacy, academic equity, and essential 21st-century skills. All device activity (even at home) is monitored by DPS. Students and families should understand that there is no expectation of privacy when using district technology.
New across the district this year, all students in grades K–12 are required to pay an annual technology fee to help sustain device repairs and support services. DPS remains committed to ensuring equitable access for all students. If your family is experiencing financial hardship, you may request a Student Technology Fee Waiver by submitting a form to the school.
Download the waiver form below or pick up a copy in the front office.
For questions or Chromebook support at Brogden, students and families should contact our Media Facilitators, Ms. Chandra Cook at Chandra_Cook@dpsnc.net and Mr. David Crane at David_Crane@dpsnc.net. They serve as our school’s direct contacts for device distribution, repairs, and day-to-day technology support.
