Teacher Of The Month: Hezekiah Villanueva
6th Grade Science Teacher – The School for Creative Studies
Mr. Hezekiah B. Villanueva is a passionate and dedicated science educator from the Philippines, currently teaching at The School for Creative Studies. With over nine years of teaching experience, he has taught a wide range of science courses including Physical Science, Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, and Practical Research. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, Major in Science, from Saint Louis University in Baguio City in 2016. His teaching philosophy focuses on making science meaningful and relatable, helping students connect classroom concepts to real-world experiences. He believes that science is not just a subject, but a way of understanding and improving life. Before joining The School for Creative Studies, Mr. Villanueva taught at Alaminos City National High School in the Philippines, where he mentored students in research and film production. His students’ work received national recognition, including: Top 10 Documentary Film in the Philippines (National Council for Children’s Television – Dokyubata Year 5) and 3rd Place at UP Patalasanlahi 2022 for the Documentary “Salat” Mr. Villanueva believes that professional growth is a lifelong journey. He continuously participates in seminars and training that enhance his teaching practice and inspire innovation in the classroom. Beyond teaching, he enjoys exploring new technologies, mentoring student creators, and encouraging curiosity through hands-on learning. Guided by the belief that “education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire,” he strives to ignite a lifelong love of learning in every student he teaches.
