Principal’s Update for the Week of 3-1-26
Dear Rogers-Herr Middle School Families and Guardians,
Happy Week 9 of Quarter 3! We are moving quickly through the quarter, and our scholars continue to show focus, growth, and resilience. This is an important stretch of the semester as students prepare for upcoming assessments, projects, and continued academic progress.
We encourage you to continue checking Canvas, reviewing assignments, and having regular conversations with your child about their learning goals. Every week matters, and consistent effort now makes a big difference later.
Measles Preparedness
As news is shared regarding measles outbreaks throughout North Carolina and the country, please know that there is no confirmed case in Durham Public Schools, and that we are continuously working with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the Durham County Department of Public Health to remain proactive.
If we do not have a record of your student’s measles vaccination or documented exemption, please submit it to the school as soon as possible. If your child has not received the measles vaccination, please contact your health provider as soon as possible. The Durham County Department of Public Health can also provide vaccinations. They may be reached at (919) 560-7645. Should you have any questions about this respiratory virus, please consult your physician or the district’s Lead Nurse Regina Blackmon at regina_blackmon@dpsnc.net.
Please visit our website for more information.
Progress Reports
Progress reports will go home on Friday, February 27. Please take time to review your child’s progress and reach out to teachers if you have any questions or concerns.
Tuesday, March 3 is a teacher workday. There will be no school for students on that day.
Intersession is quickly approaching. The last day of the quarter is Friday, March 13. Students will return to school on Monday, April 6.
Thank you for all you do to make Rogers-Herr an extraordinary place to learn, work, and grow. We look forward to seeing our scholars back Monday morning.
