Principal’s Update for the Week of 1/26/26

Dear Rogers-Herr Middle School Families and Guardians,

The National Weather Center is projecting snow this weekend that could result in school closings and the assignment of Remote Learning Days next week.

As we prepare for this possibility, please note that your child is expected to log into each class and complete assignments as posted, just as they would during a regular school day. Thank you for helping us ensure your scholar is ready in the event we shift to Remote Learning.

If we do need to shift to Remote Learning, please be sure to visit the Rogers-Herr Middle School website for important details regarding student assignments and teacher office hours. This information will help ensure a smooth transition and continued learning for our scholars.

On-time Arrival

We want to share an important reminder about the importance of arriving to school on time. Recently, we have seen an increase in students arriving late, which directly impacts their Discovery period.

Discovery is a critical part of the school day when students receive targeted remediation or enrichment based on their individual academic needs. When students arrive after the start of the day, they miss this valuable time designed to support their learning and growth.

Please help us by ensuring your scholar arrives at school by 8:15 a.m., ready for Discovery and a strong start to the day. Your partnership in prioritizing punctuality makes a meaningful difference in your child’s success.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to helping every student thrive.

We Are QUEENS Application Reopened!

The We Are QUEENS program application has reopened and will close at 3:30 p.m. on January 28, 2026. After this time, no additional applications will be accepted for this school year.

We are accepting a limited number of new participants into the We Are QUEENS program this semester. To learn more about the program and to complete the application, please visit the Rogers-Herr website, click on the Student tab, and select We Are QUEENS Info under Student Clubs. Contact Dr. Shyquel Allison at shyquel_allison@dpsnc.net if you have questions.

Please feel free to contact our school anytime if you have questions or concerns.

Thank you for making Rogers-Herr an extraordinary place to learn, work and grow! We look forward to seeing all our students bright and early Monday morning if we are not snowed in. RAMS ROCK
