Principal’s Update Week of: 12-8-25
RHMS Families,
We are officially entering the final week of the quarter! As we wrap up, we encourage all of our Ram Scholars to stay focused, stay positive, and finish strong.
Well, we made it through our first asynchronous remote learning day of the school year! Thank you for your partnership and flexibility in helping make today a success.
As a reminder, asynchronous remote learning days may occur throughout the year when needed. These days allow Rogers-Herr students and staff to stay connected to instruction while working safely from home during inclement weather, emergencies, or district-authorized remote days. Students complete independent learning activities, and teachers provide clear guidance, accessible materials, and consistent communication to ensure learning continues smoothly.
Our approach aligns with DPS standards and reflects our core values of Respect, Ownership, Character, and Knowledge.
Please take a moment to visit our school website to review our full protocol for attendance, student–parent–teacher responsibilities, and assignment expectations during asynchronous remote learning days.
Music Department Update
The 7th and 8th Grade Chorus and Orchestra Winter Concert is Monday, December 8 at 6:30. The 6th Chorus and Orchestra Winter Concert is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10, at 6:30pm. Students need to meet in the band room at 6pm. Concert attire is any combination of black and/or white dress clothes with dress shoes.
Character Matters
For the month of December, we are focused on the character trait Respect. Respect looks like:
• Taking time to pause and think before speaking or acting
• Making choices that are safe, kind, and responsible
• Following rules and expectations, even when no one is watching
• Listening fully when someone else is talking
• Considering how words and actions affect others
• Treating classmates, teachers, and school spaces with care
• Owning mistakes and choosing better actions next time
• Staying focused on work before switching to fun or free time
• Speaking to others in a calm and courteous tone
• Keeping hands, feet, and personal items to oneself
• Supporting a positive learning environment for everyone
Thank you in advance for your support and partnership. Your involvement helps create memorable experiences for our Ram Scholars! And as always, thank you for making Rogers-Herr an extraordinary place to learn, work, and grow.
