It's Principal Cheek with your weekly message. It's Teacher Appreciation week. I want to personally acknowledge all of the amazing teachers we have at Carrington Middle School. Thank you for all that you do to educate our students each day. We appreciate you!

Eighth-grade families, please mark your calendars for two important events. The 8th Grade Formal will take place on Saturday, June 7th at the Millennium Hotel in Durham, located at 2800 Campus Walk Avenue. Tickets will be available for purchase online soon. Also, our 8th Grade “Moving On” ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 10th. More details about both events will be shared in the coming weeks.
In sports news, Monday, May 5, baseball and girls’ soccer will host Neal for 8th grade night. Both games will start at 4:45 pm. Wednesday, May 7, track and field will travel to Lucas. The meet will start at 4:45 pm.. Thursday, May 8, baseball and girls’ soccer will travel to Brogden. Both games will start at 4:45 pm. Please familiarize yourself with the district-wide stadium policies and procedures, including the clear bag and no re-entry policies. Tickets are $8.00 but free for elementary age students and younger. Middle and Elementary school students must be accompanied by an adult to enter and must remain with them during athletic events.
Last week, letters went home regarding our SwaGRRR Day event to be held on Friday, May 16th. The cost to attend is $10. You can pay online at: bit.ly/grrr25 through May 14th until Midnight. Cash payments will be accepted May 14th and May 15th during grade-level lunches. Final payments must be received by 1:45PM on May 15th. No refunds will be provided. To keep our event fun and safe, we ask that families please send your child to school with a water bottle, sunscreen, and protective sunwear.
