Greetings, Cougar Families!

This is Principal Cheek with your weekly message. We took our ELA, Math, and Science 8 Benchmarks last week. You can expect to hear how your students performed this week. These results will tell us how to additionally prepare your students for the EOG in just a few weeks.

Teacher Appreciation Week is next week. This is an amazing time to let your child's teacher know how much you value the hard work that they do each day to support your child's success. Feel free to drop them a note or share your gratitude with them.

This Tuesday, we have two wonderful opportunities for our families:

Poetry Night: Students and staff will present original poems starting at 6:00 in the Media Center.

Literacy Night - Tuesday, April 29 from 6pm - 7pm. Learn about the literacy learning resources available to all DPS secondary students and explore core classroom resources! Free books, dinner, and childcare will be provided.

In athletics news, Monday, April 28, baseball and girls’ soccer will travel to Lucas. Tuesday, April 29, is team picture day for baseball and girls’ soccer.  Wednesday, April 30, track and field will host Brogden and Kestrel for 8th grade night.  Thursday, May 1, baseball and girls’ soccer will host Lowes Grove.  Team Picture day for track and field will also be on Thursday, May 1. All games and meets begin at 4:45 pm.

This concludes our announcements for this week. Let's make it a great one in Cougar Country...intentionally!
