Bethesda will host Open House on Friday, August 22, for all 1st - 5th grade students. This is a special opportunity for parents and students to meet and receive important information for the school year. We are so excited to welcome our families back to school! See you soon!

The first day of school for First-Fifth Grade is Monday, August 25, 2025.  

Special Meet and Greet for Kindergarten ONLY on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

Mark your calendars!  Bethesda will host incoming Kindergarten students on Tuesday, August 12th, for Popsicles with the Principal. This is a special opportunity for parents and students to meet and greet the principal prior to Kindergarten Staggered Entry. We are so excited to welcome our Kindergarten families! 

Kindergarten Staggered Entry

To ensure a smooth PreK-to-Kindergarten transition for all elementary schools, students will participate in a Kindergarten orientation that provides opportunities to practice kindergarten routines, exposure to kindergarten expectations, engage in school tours, meet the school staff, and engage in Kindergarten Readiness tools. Please see the schedule below for your child’s scheduled date, based on their last name.  This is a regular school day.

• Monday, August 25th - No School - Planning day for teachers

• Tuesday, August 26th - Students with last names A-L attend

• Wednesday, August 27th- Students with last names M-Z attend

• Thursday, August 28th - All students’ first day of Kindergarten!

  • Open House 8:00 am - 9:00 am (we strongly encourage all families to attend) 

  • All students will remain at school for a full day after open house.

• Friday, August 29th- All students attend (regular schedule)

  
  

Student Device Agreement & Technology Fee

Each student must have a signed Student Device Agreement Form. These forms will be available at Open House. To support device sustainability and repair, a $15 annual technology fee is required for  students in grades K-5. The technology fee can be paid at the DPS Online Pay Portal. This fee covers one accidental damage repair per school year (e.g., cracked screen, keyboard damage).

• Does not cover lost devices, intentional damage, or multiple incidents of damage.

• Does not cover lost or damaged charger. Students can purchase replacement chargers at the DPS-IT Support Center. 

If a second accidental damage occurs in the same school year:

• The family will be responsible for the full cost of repairs or replacement.

• The student will be issued a school-use-only device that remains on campus.

• A backpack each day large enough to fit a pocket folder

• Water bottle with straw for your child to use daily 

• 2 full sets of clothing (shirt,pants/shorts,underwear and socks)

• 1 blanket

• 1 fitted crib/twin sheet for rest time 

• Pull-ups/diapers (if your student needs them- please only send in pull-ups with Velcro straps for use)
