Ms. Harvell’s, Mr. Holderfield’s and Mr. Lea’s classes had a great time at the Durham Bulls game on Tuesday.


Congratulations to the men’s volleyball team for beating the #1 team in the state, Chapel Hill High School, 3-2 on Tuesday night.


The Riverside Air Force JROTC visited the state of Georgia on a three-day trip. The cadets toured Camp Toccoa at Currahee Military Museum & Camp, took part in a six mile hike up the mountain, visited Georgia Aquarium, and wrapped up with a visit to Six Flags Over Georgia.


Shout-out to the RHS Math Team who competed in the State Mathematics Contest for the Central Region at Wake Tech this week.


The Invest in Girls club enjoyed our field trip to the Fidelity campus on Friday! We had the opportunity to learn many valuable things and met the State Treasurer!


As part of PLTW's Spring Speaker Day on Friday, students had the opportunity to learn from the guidance and experiences of seven PLTW alumni, including (L-R with Mr. Velegol):

Olivia Haynie RHS Class of 2020; University of Pennsylvania, BA in Sociology. Currently an editorial Fellow at The Forward

Shout-out to the Croasdale Garden Club for collaborating with Mr. Flippen’s, Ms. Harvell’s, Mr. Holderfield’s, and Mr. Lea’s classes to teach kite flying on Thursday afternoon.

This past Thursday through Saturday, a gathering of 27 Riverside students attended the NC Technology Student Association state conference in Greensboro, NC. The students competed in over 13 different events, earning top-3 placement in the following events:
Board Game Design, 3rd Place, Eisley Jantz and Elijah Foster
Children's Story, 3rd Place, Shana Gordon, Eloise Egger, and Lucy Gray
Video Game Design, 2nd Place, Lincoln Smith, Eisley Jantz, and Thilo Fullenkamp
Many other students were top-10 finalists and just missed a podium finish. We are all very proud of the accomplishments made by all students.

Congratulations to Jacob Brennan for placing 2nd in the state for Public Speaking at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Greensboro. He is moving on to compete in the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California in June.
Mitch Brennan, Lucian Daniels and Kushal Hiremath placed Top 10 in the Business Management team event. Congratulations to all students for participating in the conference this year!
