4th & 5th GRADE FAMILIES
Southwest will be partnering with Durham County School Health to provide a mass vision screening to all 4th and 5th graders. The screenings will take place on February 11th.
Your student should have brought home an opt-out consent form on Friday. If you do not want your child to participate, please complete the form and return it to the school. Otherwise, no action is required and your student will participate in the vision screening event on February 11th.

PEOPLES GAME CAMPS – February 16th

STEAM NIGHT
Please join us on Thursday, February 19th from 4:30–6:00 PM for STEAM Night!
There will be many hands-on opportunities to create and explore, including Math Games, Black Light Art, Aviation activities, and more.
Pizza will be served in the cafeteria from 5:00–5:45 PM.

WOMEN IN SPORTS
Duke Athletics is excited to host the 2026 National Girls and Women in Sports Clinic, presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, Saturday, Feb. 7, inside Cameron Indoor Stadium.
The clinic, featuring student-athletes from participating Duke's women's varsity sports, will run from 9-10:30 a.m., throughout all of Cameron Indoor Stadium. Each of the represented sports have a designated section in the arena to teach a sport-related skill or technique. The Duke Cheer and Dance teams along with the Blue Devil mascot will also be in attendance.
The clinic is free of charge and open to all kids in grades 1-8. A parent or guardian must be present at all times. Registration, although not required, is strongly encouraged. For more information and to register for the clinic, visit https://goduke.com/form/174.
