DISTRICT BENCHMARK TESTING
As we reach near the halfway point of the school year, students in grades 3–5 will participate in middle-of-year benchmark testing. These assessments provide valuable insight into each child’s academic progress, highlighting strengths and identifying areas where additional support may be needed. The results help teachers adjust instruction to ensure students are on track for end-of-year goals, while also giving families a clear picture of growth.

PROGRESS REPORTS
Progress Reports were scheduled to be sent home today. If your child’s teacher did not distribute them yesterday, they will be sent home on Monday.

WINTER CONCERT
Southwest’s Winter Concert, celebrating 3rd – 5th grade performers will be Thursday, December 11th at 6:00 PM in the gym.
HOLIDAY GIFT DRIVE
Student Services Team has contacted some of our more vulnerable families and compiled an Amazon Wishlist of gifts for Southwest Students. CHOCOLATADA
In Spanish-speaking countries, Christmas carols are a cherished cultural tradition not a religious event. Singing together and enjoying hot chocolate is simply a joyful way to connect with family and friends.
We invite you to join the Dual Language Team on Thursday, December 18th from 4:00–5:30 PM. We’ll meet outdoors, in front of the school, to celebrate community, culture, and holiday traditions. Bring along any seasonal sweet or pastry to share, and let’s make it a festive evening of music, warmth, and togetherness!
