Principal’s Weekly Message – Week of 4/27/25

At Rogers-Herr, we are committed to fostering a positive and respectful learning environment where every student feels safe, valued, and supported. As Rams, please understand the importance of positive behavior both inside and outside of school. Rams represent our school in all spaces, including online, and we encourage you to be mindful of what you may say to others and post on social media, as your words and actions can have a lasting impact on you and others. Honor Roll Celebration

We are thrilled to announce that nearly 400 Rogers-Herr students earned A or A/B Honor Roll status last quarter! This remarkable achievement demonstrates the incredible dedication and academic excellence of our Ram community. They will be recognized April 29. 

A special thank you to our wonderful PTA for generously providing the celebratory items for this special recognition. We couldn't celebrate our scholars properly without your support.

EOGs Are Approaching

There are approximately 25 days before EOG testing begins.  We are focused and want to ensure every student’s success. Let’s finish strong!

8th Grade Promotion Ceremonies

8th Grade Promotion Ceremonies are scheduled for Wednesday, June 11. Please note each team’s ceremony times.  June 11 is an early release day and 8th grade students are permitted to leave with their parents at the end of their ceremony. Parents will need to sign their student out at the sign-out table located in the main lobby.

 9:30-10:30                  Explorers Team Ceremony

11:00-12:00                 Dreamseekers Team Ceremony

Attention 8th Grade Students and Families

The 8th Grade Semi-Formal is scheduled for Friday, May 30 (6:00-9:00pm) at the Durham Hilton Hotel and tickets are on sale. The cost is $45 per student.  Please note, this event is only for 8th grade students. Don’t delay, go online and purchase your ticket today. 

Band Concert Reminder

The 6th grade band concert is Monday, May 12, at 6:30pm.  The 7th/8th grade band concert is Tuesday, May 13 at 6:30.  Students need to meet in the band room by 6:00pm dressed in black and/or white dress clothes and dress shoes. 

As a reminder, it doesn’t matter how you start, but how you finish that counts.  Rams exemplify RESPECT, OWNERSHIP, CHARACTER, and KNOWLEDGE. At all times.  Rams are scholars, Rams are leaders, and Rams ALWAYS ROCK!

Thank you for making Rogers-Herr an extraordinary place to learn, work, and grow!  We look forward to seeing our Ram scholars back Monday morning and as always, Rams ROCK!

En Rogers-Herr, estamos comprometidos a fomentar un ambiente de aprendizaje positivo y respetuoso donde cada estudiante se sienta seguro, valorado y apoyado. Como Rams, por favor entiendan la importancia del comportamiento positivo tanto dentro como fuera de la escuela. Los Rams representan a nuestra escuela en todos los espacios, incluido el Internet, y les animamos a ser conscientes de lo que pueden decir a los demás y publicar en las redes sociales, ya que sus palabras y acciones pueden tener un impacto duradero en ustedes y en los demás. Trabajemos juntos para garantizar que nuestra cultura escolar refleje amabilidad, responsabilidad y respeto.

Celebración del Cuadro de Honor

¡Estamos encantados de anunciar que casi 400 estudiantes Rogers-Herr obtuvo A o A / B cuadro de honor el trimestre pasado! Este notable logro demuestra la increíble dedicación y excelencia académica de nuestra comunidad Ram. Ellos serán reconocidos 29 de abril.

Los EOG se acercan

Faltan aproximadamente 25 días para que comiencen las pruebas EOG.  Estamos enfocados y queremos asegurar el éxito de cada estudiante. ¡Vamos a terminar fuerte!

Ceremonias de promoción de 8º curso

Las ceremonias de promoción de 8º grado están programadas para el miércoles 11 de junio. Tenga en cuenta los horarios de las ceremonias de cada equipo.  El 11 de junio es un día de salida temprana y a los estudiantes de 8º grado se les permite salir con sus padres al final de su ceremonia. Los padres tendrán que firmar la salida de su estudiante en la mesa de salida ubicada en el vestíbulo principal.

Atención estudiantes de 8º grado y familias

El 8vo Grado Semi-Formal está programado para el viernes 30 de mayo (6:00-9:00pm) en el Durham Hilton Hotel y los boletos están a la venta. Concierto de la Banda de Música

El concierto de la banda de 6º grado es el lunes 12 de mayo a las 18:30. El concierto de la banda de 7º/8º grado es el martes 13 de mayo a las 6:30.  Los estudiantes necesitan reunirse en el salón de la banda a las 6:00pm vestidos con ropa de vestir negra y/o blanca y zapatos de vestir. 

Como recordatorio, no importa como empiezas, sino como terminas lo que cuenta.  Los Rams ejemplifican

RESPETO, PROPIEDAD, CARÁCTER y CONOCIMIENTO. En todo momento.  Los Rams son eruditos, los Rams son líderes y los Rams ¡Siempre son lo máximo!
