Join us in honoring our well-deserved Beginning Teacher of the Year! Ms. Ward, our Beginning Teacher of the Year, hails from Trenton, North Carolina, and made Durham her home in 2018. She joined the R.N. Harris family in 2022. A proud graduate of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP), she earned her bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in Health Promotion in 2012. Recently, she achieved her Masters in Elementary Education, also from UNCP. Ms. Ward currently shines as a 4th-grade teacher and grade-level chair. She's known for her creative lessons that provide students with memorable learning experiences. Outside of the classroom, she cherishes time with her daughter, enjoys cooking shows and horror films, and loves connecting with family and friends
