This year, we are excited to launch a new initiative: Beyond the Backpack: School Supply Drive.
While backpacks and traditional school supplies are always appreciated and remain an important need, we have recognized that many of our students and families face challenges that extend beyond what can fit inside a backpack. Throughout the school year, we often encounter needs such as clothing, hygiene and hair care products, sensory items, and other basic essentials that help students feel confident, comfortable, and ready to learn.
With your support, we hope to meet these everyday needs so that every child can come to school prepared to learn and thrive. We invite you to partner with us by donating items that will help us stock our Beyond the Backpack Resource Closet and provide ongoing support to students and families throughout the year.
Attached is a flyer outlining the various donation kits and suggested items. Whether you choose to donate a few items, sponsor an entire kit, or organize a collection drive through your church, business, civic organization, or neighborhood, your generosity will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.
Thank you for investing in our students and believing in the work happening at Parkwood Elementary School. Together, we can ensure that every Panther has the resources they need to succeed—both inside and outside the classroom.
With gratitude,
Dr. Jessica Perry
Principal
Parkwood Elementary School
