Monday September 29th: Hispanic flags “face painting”. Choose a Spanish- speaking country and get its flag painted on your face

🎒 Fill That Bus! Fuel the Year – Starts Today! 🚍 Durham, let’s kick off the school year right! The annual “Fill That Bus! Fuel the Year” school supply drive begins today, running through August 8. Our good friends at the DPS Foundation will be leading the effort in restocking the shelves at Crayons2Calculators so every DPS teacher has the tools needed—completely free—for student success 📝📚 What’s happening: Community-wide efforts to gather essential supplies—pencils, notebooks, art tools, rulers, folders, tissue, and more. Drop-off bins are set up around the city (libraries, churches, businesses) and at Crayons2Calculators warehouse, 808 Bacon St., open Tuesdays & Thursdays, 11 am–3 pm. Prefer to support digitally? Financial donations help purchase high-need items efficiently. Why it matters: Last year, Crayons2Calculators distributed over $129,000 in supplies, supporting 96% of DPS teachers at 59 schools—and many teachers still spend hundreds out-of-pocket. 👉 How YOU can help: Donate supplies: drop off at Crayons2Calculators or community bins. LGMS 8th Grade Formal, "Everything Bling" will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. $10 per person. Cash only. No refunds.

The 8th Grade Promotion ceremony will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 10:00am in the LGMS Gymnasium. Each student will be provided 2 tickets for their guests. NO EXCEPTIONS. #VikingPride

April 29, 2025 11 AM - 4 PM, Lowe's Grove Middle School Parking Lot. Lowe's Grove Athletics will be hosting a free car wash. Donations will be accepted. At the same time, there will be a $12 fish fry including fish, a side, a drink, and dessert! Finally, the event includes a Hydration Drive. Donate bottled water, Gatorade, and other sports drinks to keep our track & field, soccer, baseball, and softball teams hydrated. Contact athletic director Isaiah Jones with any questions. Your participation supports Track & Field, Girls Soccer, Baseball, and Softball!

Lowe's Grove Middle School: Title I Literacy Night! May 14, 2025, 6-7 PM. Families and students come on out! We will have free food, free books for students to take home, and (you guessed it, free) tips for improving reading skills that y'all can work on at home.
