Greetings Viking Family,
Please see the LGMS updates for the Week of October 20.
Friendly Reminder-- As the weather changes and school temperatures fluctuate, please make sure your child dresses in layers or brings a jacket each day. It’s also a good idea for students to keep a light jacket or sweatshirt in their locker for cooler classrooms.
It’s hard to believe we’re already wrapping up the first nine weeks of school! Our students have worked hard building routines, deepening their learning, and connecting with their teachers and peers. As we close out the quarter, please take a moment to review your student’s progress and ensure all make-up work is submitted before the grading period ends on October 24thThank you for your continued support as we help every student finish strong and start the next quarter with success!
Fall School-wide Lockdown Drill
Monday, October 20 - All students and staff will participate in a school-wide lockdown drill with district personnel and law enforcement. As part of our ongoing commitment to safety, we will conduct various drills throughout the year, including fire, tornado, and lockdown drills. Teachers have reviewed and practiced procedures with students to ensure everyone is prepared and confident during the drill.
Our students have done an outstanding job during recent safety drills and evacuations. This past Friday was a great example, as we briefly evacuated the building due to a precautionary matter in the cafeteria kitchen. We are incredibly proud of how calmly and responsibly both students and staff responded. Parents, please take a moment to let your child know how proud you are of their cooperation and commitment to keeping our school community safe.
