Julian-Ramos Larenzo is a Senior at the School for Creative Studies who is known for his broad smile, pleasant attitude, and kind demeanor. Appointed as a Senior Ambassador at the school that he has attended since his middle years, he also serves as Senior Treasurer for the School’s Student Government.

Julian-Ramos says he’s had several role models who have helped him along the way. His father leads the list.

“While it's hard to choose one person, My dad has had an impact on my life by showing the value of hard work and dedication,” he said.

He also says his teachers, Mr. Nicklous and Ms. Finn, are always there for him and he considers them his at-school parents. Another teacher, Ms. Keller, has taught him to persevere, and never back down.

He also credits two friends who have been by his side through thick and thin.

Julian-Ramos plans to graduate and major in Humanities. His preferred university is the University of Chapel Hill. Once he earns a degree, his desire is to grow his father’s mechanic’s shop.  He’d also like to live life to the fullest: that would include adopting a pet cat, continuing to write music, starting a film career, and visiting and traveling the world from time to time. He’s even thinking of entering public service and writing a book. 

His hope is to “create media that helps the world and also influence change in this country while writing music for people so they can feel that they are not alone in life. And also, generally help the poor and the people who went through a lot,” he said. 

Julian-Ramos said he is motivated by helping people who are going through a lot in life to ensure they never feel alone. “My biggest accomplishment is overall stepping up as a leader, mentor and also a brother for people who are going through a lot helping them see things more clearly and helping them overcome their fears or family issues.”

How does success feel?

“One success I honestly think is earning the honor of having student of the month and maintaining my roles in different clubs and programs at school and overall balancing my schoolwork. That's my biggest success, while balancing a lot outside of school, and when I faced personal situations. And this has proven to me that no matter how life gets or many things I will never give up, I’ll always keep fighting.”

Julian-Ramos faced a medical emergency in the fourth grade that convinced him that he could overcome anything.

Outside of school, he loves gardening, taking pictures in nature, sleeping in nature while listening to music, and writing music.
