PSAT at Riverside High School
PSAT REGISTRATION DEADLINE: September 15, 2025 at 5 p.m.
PSAT DATE: Thursday, October 9, 2025
PSAT LOCATION: Riverside High School
WHAT IS THE PSAT: The PSAT is a standardized, multiple-choice test that includes three sections: critical reading, mathematics, and writing. The test provides practice for the SAT and offers insight for advising and counseling students.
WHO CAN TAKE THE PSAT: The PSAT allows 11th grade students the opportunity to potentially qualify for a National Merit scholarship if they receive a very high score (generally the top 1%). For this reason, DPS strongly encourages students in the top 10% of the junior class to take the PSAT. All 9 -11th grade students may register to take the PSAT for a fee of $18. It is strongly recommended that students have earned a credit for Math I prior to taking the PSAT.
HOW TO REGISTER: Interested Riverside students should complete the RHS PSAT Registration Form and submit payment via the Online Payment Portal by Monday, September 15 at 5 p.m. A limited number of fee waivers are also available for students based on financial need; please contact will_okun@dpsnc.net if you have questions regarding fee waivers.
NOTE REGARDING ACCOMMODATIONS: Students who have already received applied for and received approved accommodations through College Board should notify Will Okun at will_okun@dpsnc.net
Questions about the PSAT can be directed to your School Counselor or Assistant Principal, Will Okun (will_okun@dpsnc.net).
