Murray Massenburg Elementary School presents "A Century of Black History Commemorations" on February 26, 2026 at 5:30 PM at their school in Durham, NC

Murray–Massenburg Elementary School is pleased to extend an invitation for you to join us as a distinguished guest at our annual Black History Program. Last year’s performance was exceptional, and we are confident that this year’s program will be equally inspiring. We are delighted to share that we have added a wax museum exhibit highlighting notable local history makers. Your presence would greatly enhance this special occasion.

This year’s theme, “A Century of Black History Commemorations,” will guide a performance honoring the remarkable contributions of Pauli Murray, Betty Massenburg, Ernie Barnes, Chuck Davis, Joyce Edwards, Dr. Minnie T. Forte, the Honorable A. Leon Stanback, Jr., Rev. Dr. William E. Daye, Rodney Rogers, C.C. Spaulding, James E. Shepard, W.G. Pearson, R.N. Harris, and Dr. E. Victor Maafo.

The program will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5:30–6:30 PM at Murray–Massenburg Elementary School, located at 3901 S. Roxboro Street, Durham, NC 27713. The wax museum exhibit will open at 5:30 PM, and the performance will begin promptly at 6:00 PM.
