Principal
As principal of Morehead Montessori I am committed to building a community engaged in the learning experience. Through vulnerability, empathy and belonging, we aim to create a space where teachers, students and community members believe Morehead is a great place to teach and learn.
Vulnerability: Acknowledge your own imperfections, show your authentic selves, and openly expressing thoughts and emotions. It's not a sign of weakness, but rather a strength that fosters trust, authenticity, and deeper connections within a team.
Empathy: Understand and share the feelings of others and to respond with care and understanding
Belonging: Create a workplace environment where individuals feel valued, respected, and included, enabling them to fully participate and contribute
About Me:
I am a graduate of the University of Michigan where I was a 4-year Varsity Letter Winner on the baseball team. I obtained my Masters in School Administration from East Carolina University in 2014 and have been serving as a school administrator in Durham Public Schools since 2018.
My wife, Cari DelMariani, and I live in South Durham with our twins Miles & Genevieve, cat Phoebe, dog Romeo, and four chickens who remain nameless. We enjoy all Durham has to offer and love being outside at the Eno River, eating at Goorsha and all the other fantastic Durham restaurants. When we are not out and about in Durham, we enjoy traveling to the beach or mountains where we can explore new adventures. As transplants from the North, we will occasionally travel back to Michigan to spend time with family and friends along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
