Greetings, Viking Family.
Please see the weekly message below from Lowe’s Grove.
The last day of school is June 11th and it is also an Early Release Day. Students will be dismissed at 1:20pm. Please be sure to pick up your child on-time as the entire staff will be needed immediately for close-out responsibilities.
EOG Testing Schedule for This Week:
• Monday 6/2 - 6th Grade Math
• Tuesday, 6/3 - 7th & 8th Grade Reading
• Make-Up testing and Take 2 Remediation will take place as needed
As a reminder, cellphones, smart watches or any electronic devices are not permitted in the testing area. If any electronic device noise is made during testing, it is cause for a mis-administration and the entire testing class will have to retest. If you have an emergency, please call the front desk and someone will assist you.
BIG thanks for ensuring that our students arrive on-time. Keep in mind, tardy students may not be able to test in their original setting. We are excited to share that we have an extremely low number for make-up testing. Thanks again students, families, staff and all proctors for your support. Let’s keep up the great work!
EOG Take Two
This year, EOG Take 2 will take place before the school year ends. This means students who did not pass an EOG Test, yet, scored within a certain range of a passing score, can retake the Reading and/ or Math EOG at the end of this week. Parent permission is required for retesting. Look for retesting permission forms to come starting tomorrow as this is a quick turn-around.
Behavior Expectations and Student Choices
These last couple of weeks are an exciting time for students, but they can also present challenges when it comes to staying focused and making positive behavioral choices. We kindly ask you to remind your child about the importance of finishing the year strong—both academically and behaviorally. Encouraging respectful, responsible, and safe behavior each day helps create a positive environment for everyone and allows for meaningful, memorable end-of-year activities.
Here are a few ways you can support your child during this time:
• Talk regularly with your child about their day and how they’re feeling.
• Set clear expectations about behavior at school.
• Celebrate good decisions.
• Encourage rest to help with energy and focus.
• Remind your child that their choices reflect their growth and maturity.
Along with parent contact for misbehavior, consequences may include: student loss of privilege to participate in field trips, celebrations, and/or ceremonies if behavior expectations are not met. Let’s work together to help students finish the school year on a high note and make choices they can be proud of—right up until the last day!
