Each year, Magnet Schools of America awards merit recognition to member schools that demonstrate an exemplary commitment to academic standards, curriculum innovation, desegregation/diversity efforts, specialized teaching staffs and parent and community involvement. Awards are given at two levels, Magnet School of Excellence is the top award for a select group of schools, and Magnet School of Distinction is the second-highest award level.
George Watts Montessori has been recognized several times for their commitment, and again, George Watts Montessori was named Magnet School of Excellence for 2025.
