Greetings!
EK Powe's new Assistant Principal, Ms. Sri Sankar, began work on Nov. 24th and will have her first day with students on Monday, December 1st. She stood out from an exceptional group of candidates. She was an administrator for several years at a school in New Hampshire. She then moved to NC and spent time as an instructional coach in Chapel hill.
As Ms. Sankar stated, "I’m excited and grateful to join the team and contribute to the EK Powe community. As an immigrant who came to this country at the age of 20, I have firsthand experience of how life-changing education can be. The support and encouragement of my teachers shaped my path and showed me that education has the power to transform not just an individual’s life, but entire families and communities. As an educator, I am passionate about creating an environment where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. I am equally committed to supporting teachers, listening to their ideas and challenges, celebrating their successes, and providing the resources and encouragement they need to thrive. I look forward to working with our teachers to serve the needs of our students."
