When it comes to knowing what motivates him to succeed, Treyvin Hilliard doesn’t mince words.
“What motivates me to succeed is the desire to build a better future for myself, my family, and my community,” said Treyvin, who will attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to study construction management. “I’ve always believed that success isn’t just about personal gain; it's about using your achievements to uplift others and make a meaningful difference.”
With that philosophy, it’s easy to see why being a part of the Young Male Achievers at the Durham School for Creative Studies is Treyvin’s favorite memory. YMA is a partnership with local universities and organizations to build leadership skills and encourage civic engagement and community service.
Treyvin also gets right to the point when asked about his advice for younger DPS students.
“Just get the work done,” he said.
