Providing affordable dental care to low-income families is what Lizbeth Luna-Lopez dreams of doing. She plans to attend Harvard University, study biomedical engineering and ultimately to become a dentist.
Lizbeth’s time at the City of Medicine Academy provided a strong foundation for these pursuits. At CMA she has served as president of the HOSA-Future Health Professionals chapter and has completed clinical hours at the Durham VA Hospital and The Forest at Duke retirement center.
She shares that her greatest motivators are her parents who, “came to this country to give me a better life filled with great opportunities, so I always put my best foot forward to make them proud and show them how thankful I am for their hard work and selflessness.”
“Always seek new opportunities for personal and academic growth,” Lizbeth offers as advice to future DPS graduates. “Fill out that application, attend that interview, and send that cold email. You’ll never know what you can accomplish if you don’t take risks and chances.”
