Atticus Kenney’s favorite memory of his years at Riverside High School is playing baseball for Riverside and participating in design development such as the Date of Birth project, which involves the design of electronic circuitry that will display one’s birthday.
Atticus has been awarded the Levine Scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. This is UNCC’s most prestigious scholarship, awarded to only 20 students nationwide, from an application pool exceeding 3,000.
It’s a “full ride” scholarship based on leadership, academic excellence, and community impact. Atticus is motivated by his family, faith, and all the support that he has received over the years. His advice to those who will follow him is to aim high in selecting classes that will help in their college applications and additional pursuits.
“Pursue AP courses in which you are confident you can thrive, but also find opportunities outside of the classroom that spark your academic or personal interests,” said Atticus.
