Three teachers posing in front of book display

by Elizabeth Agoranos (District Beginning Teacher Mentor)

This year, I have the privilege of supporting the students and staff at Club Elementary School. As I walk through the halls, hear the giggle of students and encouraging words of their teachers, I’ve noticed that these three staff members, Ms. Martinez, Ms. Lee, and Ms. Goff are strong pillars of the school. It’s not surprising that these three staff members have been selected by their peers to be the Teacher of the Year, the IA of the year, and the BT (beginning teacher) of the year.

Ms. Nicoleta Martinez has poured her heart and soul into Club Blvd. She consistently goes above and beyond to support our English Learners and our entire school community. As one colleague shared, “My students are always excited to work with her.” She engages students at many different levels throughout the day, brings their cultures into her lessons, and “finds the best of each student.” Her impact on students and families is deep and lasting.

Ms. Zoe Goff is a constant, dependable presence in our building. She is described as “incredibly kind to every student and always has a smile on her face,” and it’s true—Zoe brings positivity and care into every space she enters. She is flexible, professional, and always willing to step in wherever she’s needed. As one nomination put it, she provides “patient, compassionate, and consistent support,” and she truly is a joy to work with.

Ms. Sydney Lee, our Beginning Teacher of the Year, has had an incredible first year. She has brought joy, creativity, and new energy to the art room, and her passion for the arts is contagious. Colleagues shared that “Club needed new vibes and she brings them,” and that her students’ artwork is amazing. She creates a welcoming, inclusive space and has handled her first year with maturity and grace well beyond her years.

These three educators make a real difference for our students every single day. We are grateful for their work and proud to celebrate them as our Club Blvd Educators of the Year!
