Principal's Weekly Spotlight 04/21/2019

Good evening! This is Dr. Moore-Lawrence, proud principal of Bethesda Elementary School, with the Principal’s Weekly Spotlight. Please listen to the following reminders about important things happening at Bethesda the week of April 22nd.


This week, 3rd-5th grade students who were absent or late on testing days, will make-up t their CASE 21 tests.  Please ensure that your student gets plenty of rest and arrives to school before 7:45.

Monday, April 22nd

  • Battle of the Books (Afterschool; Coordinated by Kinsey)


Tuesday, April 23rd

  • Morning Media Check Out—Please encourage your child to visit the library to check out books.
  • EPA Earth Day (Coordinated by EPA and ML; See Attached Schedule)
  • Bulldog Academy Tutoring (Afterschool)
  • Title I District PAC Night Event (6:00; Durham Armory)


Wednesday, April 24th 

  • Happy Red for Ed Day—Students and staff are encouraged to wear red to show their support for public education
  • Fifth Grade Puberty Sessions (Coordinated by Terry)
  • Chorus Rehearsal (Afterschool with Mr. Bridgers)


Thursday, April 25th

  • Spark Club (Afterschool; Coordinated by Hardiman and Duncan)
  • Art Club (Afterschool; Coordinated by Culberson)
  • Communities in School’s Incredible Years Program (5:30; Latham’s Room, Wilder’s Room, and A1)


Friday, April 26th

  • Show Your Bulldog Pride by wearing your Leadership t-shirt, sweatshirt, or blue and white
  • Career Day (Coordinated by Hardiman and Morman)
  • Get your dancing shoes ready! Our PTA Spring Dance is this Friday.  K-2nd will dance from 2:15-4:15 and 3rd-5th will dance from 5:30-7:30. Admission is $5 and this includes one slice of pizza and one drink. Concession items and trinkets will be on sale as well. There are no refunds.
