Principal's Weekly Spotlight 3/3/2019

Good evening! This is Dr. Moore-Lawrence, proud principal of Bethesda Elementary School, with the Principal’s Weekly Spotlight. Please listen to the following reminders about important things happening at Bethesda the week of March 4th.

This month is Women’s History Month. Throughout the month, we will spotlight the numerous contributions and talents of women from around the world. This month is also National Nutrition Month and National Social Worker Month.  During the month, we will spend additional time promoting nutrition and celebrating our Social Worker Margaret Wamugi.

This week is Read Across America Spirit Week. It’s a time when we challenge our students to read more than they’ve ever read before and to have fun while doing it.  Each day of Spirit Week corresponds with one of Dr. Seuss’s books.

Monday—One Fish,  Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish:  Wear read and blue

Tuesday—Fox in Socks:  Wear bright, colorful, fun, or plain socks.

Wednesday—Wacky Wednesday:  Wear wacky clothes (mix-matched, inside out, or backwards)

Thursday—Sleep Book—Wear School Appropriate Pajamas

Friday—The Cat in the Hat:  Wear your favorite hat; the sillier, the better.

Our Spring Fundraiser is underway and we are asking each student to sell 12 items.  Money (cash only) is due Friday, March 8th.  Our goal is to raise $10,000 to support programs and activities for students, staff, and families.  We are selling cookie dough, stainless steel tumblers, and other treats.
