Principal's Weekly Spotlight 2/3/2019

Good evening! This is Dr. Moore-Lawrence, proud principal of Bethesda Elementary School, with the Principal’s Weekly Spotlight. Please listen to the following reminders about important things happening at Bethesda the week of February 4th.

 

Bethesda’s Career Day is scheduled for April 26th. Those interested in presenting to students during Career Day should sign up on the website. You can also recommend someone to present.

 

This month is Black History Month. Students and staff will engage in activities that will promote the rich history of black people around the world. 

 

This week is National School Counseling Week. Let’s celebrate the wonderful work that Ms. Teneya Morman and Ms. Katina Hardiman do every day as Bethesda’s School Counselors.

 

Monday, February 4th

  • Quarter Two Report Cards Distributed to All Students.  If you have questions about your child’s report card, please contact your child’s teacher.
  • Battle of the Books (Afterschool with Mrs. Kinsey)

 

Tuesday, February 5th

  • Morning Media Check Out—Please encourage your child to visit the library to check out books.
  • First Grade Vision Screening (Coordinated by Nurse Terry)
  • K-5 Grade Choir Club (Afterschool with Mrs. Parker)
  • Science Olympiad Club (Afterschool with Mrs. Sheehan)

 

Wednesday, February 6th

  • Happy Red for Ed Day—Students and staff are encouraged to wear red to show their support for public education
  • Third Grade Vision Screening (Coordinated by Nurse Terry)

 

Thursday, February 7th

  • Morning Media Check Out—Please encourage your child to visit the library to check out books.
  • ESL Daytime Parent Brunch and Learn.  Come share ideas and get tips from other families and staff.  (10:00; Coordinated by ESL Team)
  • Art Club (Afterschool with Mrs. Culberson)

 

Friday, February 8th

  • Show Your Bulldog Pride by wearing your Leadership t-shirt, sweatshirt, or blue and white
  • PBIS Quarter Two Celebration to Wheels Fun Park (Coordinated by PBIS Team)
