Principal's Weekly Spotlight 1/13/2019

Good evening! This is Dr. Moore-Lawrence, proud principal of Bethesda Elementary School, with the Principal’s Weekly Spotlight. Please listen to the following reminders about important things happening at Bethesda January 14th-January 21st.


Monday, January 14th

  • Battle of the Books (Afterschool with Mrs. Kinsey)
  • Bethesda’s School Improvement Team meets afterschool


Tuesday, January 15th 

  • Morning Media Check Out—Please encourage your child to visit the library to check out books.
  • K-5 Grade Choir Club (Afterschool with Mrs. Parker)
  • Science Olympiad Club (Afterschool with Mrs. Sheehan)


Wednesday, January 16th  

  • Happy Red for Ed Day—Students and staff are encouraged to wear red to show their support for public education


Thursday, January 17th 

  • Morning Media Check Out—Please encourage your child to visit the library to check out books.
  • Spark Club (Afterschool with Mrs. Duncan and Ms. Hardiman)
  • Daughters and Sisters of Triumph will meet afterschool


Friday, January 18th

  • Show Your Bulldog Pride by wearing your Leadership t-shirt, sweatshirt, or blue and white
  • Kindergarten Parent-Teacher Instructional Breakfast at 8:30. Come learn more about what your kindergartner is learning and what your kindergartner will need to know before going to first grade.  Breakfast and prizes will be provided.


School is closed Monday, January 21st for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. If you and your family are interested in volunteering at Bethesda's MLK Day of Service, please return the form that will go home tomorrow to sign up for the event. This will make the holiday a day on not a day off.  We are in school Tuesday, January 22nd for a snow make up day.


Bethesda’s Career Day is scheduled for April 26th. Those interested in presenting to students during Career Day should sign up on the website. You can also recommend someone to present.
