Principal's Weekly Spotlight 12/16/2018

Good evening! This is Dr. Moore-Lawrence, proud principal of Bethesda Elementary School, with the Principal’s Weekly Spotlight. Please listen to the following reminders about important things happening at Bethesda the week of December 17th. This is our last week of school before our Winter Break. Hip Hip Hooray!!!!

 

Our Winter Shop will remain open until Wednesday, December 19th. Students can bring in money to buy gifts for family, friends, teachers, or themselves.

 

Monday, December 17th

  • Truancy Court (Coordinated by Bethesda’s Attendance Team)
  • Battle of the Books (Afterschool with Mrs. Kinsey)

 

Tuesday, December 18th  

  • Morning Media Check Out—Please encourage your child to visit the library to check out books.
  • ESL/AIG Field Trip to Nasher Museum
  • 4th and 5th Grade Show Choir (Afterschool with Mrs. Parker)
  • Spanish-speaking families in DPS are invited to meet with the Superintendent at the Staff Development Center on Hillandale Rd. The event is at 6:00 pm.  The Superintendent will share highlights of the DPS Strategic Plan and parents will have the opportunity to share their experiences in DPS. Refreshments will be served and childcare will be provided.  I look forward to seeing our families there.

 

Wednesday, December 19th   

  • Happy Red for Ed Day—Students and staff are encouraged to wear red to show their support for public education
  • Bethesda’s School Improvement Team will meet afterschool.

 

Thursday, December 20th  

  • Morning Media Check Out—Please encourage your child to visit the library to check out books.
  • K-2 Awards and Winter Concert at 8:30. 3-5 Awards Day and Winter Concert at 10:30. NEHS Induction Ceremony will be held at 12:00.
  • Art Club (Afterschool with Mrs. Culberson)
  • Daughters and Sisters of Triumph will meet afterschool.

  • Show Your Bulldog Pride by wearing your Leadership t-shirt, sweatshirt, or blue and white
  • K-5 Classroom Winter Celebrations. Please send in the items and/or money requested by your child’s teacher.
  • This is our last day of school until January 4th. Yes, we return to school on January 4th because it is an snow make up day.
