Good evening! This is Dr. Moore-Lawrence, proud principal of Bethesda Elementary School, with the Principal’s Weekly Spotlight. Please listen to the following reminders about important things happening at Bethesda the week of November 5th.


Monday, November 5th

  • Bethesda’s Truancy Court
  • Battle of the Books (Afterschool; Facilitated by Mrs. Kinsey)


Tuesday, November 6th      

    • Two Hour Delay (Bldg Will Open To Students At 9:15; School starts at 9:45)
    • No Breakfast
  • Morning Media Check Out
  • STEM Club (Afterschool; Facilitated by Ms. Sheehan and Mrs. Duncan)
  • Fourth and Fifth Grade Bethesda SHOW CHOIR Club (Afterschool; Music Room; Facilitated by Mrs. Mrs.  Parker)


Wednesday, November 7th    

  • Happy Red for Ed Day—Students and staff are encouraged to wear red to show their support for public education


Thursday, November 8th      

  • Morning Media Check Out
  • Fifth Grade Field Trip to NC Museum of Life and Science
  • Art Club (Afterschool; Facilitated by Mrs. Culberson)
  • School Improvement Team Meeting (2:45)
  • Bethesda PTA and Bethesda’s Wellness Sponsor Get Off Your Apps Family Night at 6:00. Join us for an evening of fun family activities including:
    • A warm-up walk around the school
    • Basketball Free Throw
    • Soccer Drills
    • Zumba
    • Hula-hoop and Jump rope Practice
    • Information on our DINE program
    • Take home dinner
    • Giveaways


Friday, November 9th 

  • Show Your Bulldog Pride by wearing your Leadership t-shirt, sweatshirt, or blue and white
  • Report Card Distribution to Students Whose Families Attended Conference. If you have not met with your child’s teacher, please call or email them to schedule a conference.
  • Operation School Bell Distribution during school hours


Saturday, November 10th

Southbridge Fellowship Church and Bethesda offer free reading tutoring.  Spaces are limited.  Reserve your space by signing up on the flyer provided in your child’s folder tomorrow. 


Don’t forget that it’s not too late to join Bethesda’s PTA for $6.
