Principal's Weekly Spotlight - 9/9/2018

Good evening! This is Dr. Moore-Lawrence, proud principal of Bethesda Elementary School, with the Principal’s Weekly Spotlight. Please listen to the following reminders about important things happening at Bethesda the week of September 10th.

Tuesday, September 11th

  • 3rd Grade students will take the Reading Beginning of Grade (BOG) Assessment

Wednesday, September 12th 

  • Happy Red for Ed Day—Students and staff are encouraged to wear red to show their support for public education
  • Step it Up Fundraising Kick Off Assembly

Friday, September 14th

  • Students and staff are encouraged to show their Bulldog pride by wearing their Bethesda t-shirt or blue and white. It’s not too late to buy your child a tshirt for $10. These t-shirts will be worn on Friday and on field trip days.

Saturday, September 15th

  • Bethesda’s Big Dig Garden Project at 9:00 a.m. Come help us plant our first school garden.  Dress comfortably. If you have gardening tools, please bring them.

Week of September 17th—Bring Your Parent to PE Week; a flyer is coming home with more information

Saturday, September 29th--Bethesda’s Moving On Up Block Party Celebration from 11:00-2:00. We are excited and proud about our letter grade moving to a C and our students exceeding expected growth last year.  This celebration will feature a cookout, video game truck, bounce houses, face painting, balloon art, hamster ball, first PTA meeting, and more.  Everything is free!!!  Invite your family and friends. Come early so you don’t miss out on any of the goodies.

Don’t forget:  Our PTA Membership drive is currently underway. Join the PTA for $6. Buy the PTA t-shirt for $10 so your child can wear it on Red for Ed Wednesday.
