PRINCIPAL'S WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT WEEK OF JUNE 5TH

Good evening!  This is Dr. Moore-Lawrence, proud principal of Bethesda Elementary with the Principal Spotlight for June 6th-June 10th. We have 4.5 days left of school.  This week’s quote is from Jay Z, “The genius thing that we did was, we didn’t give up.”

REMINDERS AND UPDATES

 

Monday, June 6th

  • EOG Make-Up Testing
  • 3rd Grade Read to Achieve Test

o            Please make sure your child is at school on time

o            If a student is late, the student will have to makeup the test and will miss end-of-year activities that are being held on makeup testing dates.

 

Tuesday, June 7th        

  • 3rd-5th Grade students take the Math EOG

o            Please make sure your child is at school on time

o            If a student is late, the student will have to makeup the test and will miss end-of-year activities that are being held on makeup testing dates.

 

Wednesday, June 8th          

  • Red for Ed Wednesday
  • EOG Make-Up Testing
  • Junior Achievement Classroom Visits Kindergarten Classes
  • PBIS Quarter Four Celebration
  • 5th Grade Dance from 6-8; students must submit the permission form and $; no parents or guests are able to attend; students should be checked in by an adult in the back of the school

 

Thursday, June 9th

 

Friday, June 10th      

  • EOG Make-Up Testing
  • Last Day of School; School ends at 12:15

 

Monday, June 13th

  • Kindergarten Drive In Awards at 12
  • Fifth Grade Drive In Awards at 2

 

Sending a huge shout out and thanks to the men and kids who came to our Fun Day on Saturday!  We had a ball!

 

By now, all DPS laptops, chargers, and hotspots should have been returned to school.

 

COVID Protocol

If your child is not feeling well, please keep your child at home. If you need information about where to get tested or where to get the vaccination, please contact the main office at 919-560-3904. 

 

This week, Bethesda reported 4 positive COVID cases, 2 close contacts were identified, and there were 0 class closures. Your student may come to school unless they are feeling sick or exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19. Please know we continue to take all precautions necessary to protect the health and safety of our students and staff.
