PRINCIPAL'S WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT WEEK OF MAY 30TH

Good evening!  This is Dr. Moore-Lawrence, proud principal of Bethesda Elementary with the Principal Spotlight for May 30th-June 4th. We have 8.5 days left of school.  This week’s quote is from Robin Sharma, “Starting strong is good. Finishing strong is epic.”

REMINDERS AND UPDATES

Tuesday, May 31st        

  • PetPals last day on campus
  • BULLDOG TUTORING FOR K-2 ONLY

 

Wednesday, June 1st         

  • Red for Ed Wednesday
  • 3rd-5th Grade students take the Reading EOG

o            Please make sure your child is at school on time

o            If a student is late, the student will have to makeup the test and will miss end-of-year activities that are being held on makeup testing dates.

  • BULLDOG TUTORING FOR K-2 ONLY; This is the last day
  • Join us at 6 for our End-of-Year Celebration for students, staff, and families https://bit.ly/BethesdaEOYCelebration2022. We will have games, prizes, and more fun.  We will elect the 2022-2023 Bethesda PTA Board.

Friday, June 3rd     

  • 5th Grade students take the Science EOG

o            Please make sure your child is at school on time

o            If a student is late, the student will have to makeup the test and will miss end-of-year activities that are being held on makeup testing dates.

 

Saturday, June 4th

  • You still have time to join us for Bethesda’s Men, Mentors, and Me Fun Day at 10:00 a.m. Complete and return the form with the money. Dress comfortably! We will play games, get a little wet, eat, and more.

 

There is tons going out at Bethesda next week

  • Tuesday--3rd-5th Grade students take the Math EOG
  • Wednesday—5th Grade Dance from 6-8; students must submit the permission form and $; no parents or guests are able to attend; students should be checked in by an adult in the back of the school
  • Thursday—1) K-5th End-of-Year Fun Days, 2) 1st-2nd End-of-Year Awards via Zoom at 9 and 3rd-4th at 11; 3) Report Cards Go Home
  • Friday—Last Day of School; School ends at 12:15
  • Monday, June 13th—Kindergarten Drive In Awards at 12; Fifth Grade Drive In Awards at 2

 

If you have a DPS laptop, charger, or hotspot at home, please be sure to send it with your child tomorrow so it can be returned.

 

COVID Protocol

If your child is not feeling well, please keep your child at home. If you need information about where to get tested or where to get the vaccination, please contact the main office at 919-560-3904. 

 

This week, Bethesda reported 1 positive COVID case, 0 close contacts were identified, and there were 0 class closures. Your student may come to school unless they are feeling sick or exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19. Please know we continue to take all precautions necessary to protect the health and safety of our students and staff.
