PRINCIPAL'S WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT WEEK OF MAY 9TH

Good evening! This is Principal Moore-Lawrence, proud principal of Bethesda Elementary with the Principal's Weekly Spotlight for the Week of May 9th. Four weeks and counting; that’s 19 days not including Memorial Day. Today, I celebrate all of the women who impact the lives of our Bethesda Bulldogs. We honor you on Mother’s Day. This week’s quote is “Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.”

If there is anything you need, please do not hesitate to email me at shaneeka_lawrence@dpsnc.net, text or call me at 919-491-3630, or contact your child’s teacher. Thank you for everything!

This Week’s Bulldog Share and Care:

Kindergarten will celebrate the women in their lives that they admire.

First grade will celebrate spring with a Spring-time directed drawing and read aloud.

Second grade will participate in a directed drawing.

Third grade will color mandalas.

Fourth grade will celebrate influential women in their lives.

Fifth grade will create Venn Diagrams with a partner.

This month, we celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. “You change the world by being yourself.”―Yoko Ono, a Japanese multimedia artist, singer, songwriter and peace activist.

    • After class discussion on Animal Habitat, during his break Samuel watched a video to gain more knowledge on animal habitats.
After reading an Informational text during an ELA lesson, Brian went on to do further research and shared his information with the class.
Carnelius and Crishaun for using their critical thinking skills during a Math lesson.
Carter took the initiative to log into I-Ready and worked independently after completing an assessment, while his classmates finished up their assessment.
