PRINCIPAL'S WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT WEEK OF MARCH 14TH
Good evening! This is Principal Moore-Lawrence, proud principal of Bethesda Elementary with the Principal's Weekly Spotlight for the Week of March 14th. March 15th is less than 24 hours away and I know we are all excited about what’s to come. The quote of the week is “Today isn’t just another day. Today I’ll create something beautiful.” The Bethesda family will continue to create something beautiful as we begin our new journey for our students who are returning face-to-face and continue our journey for our students who are remaining virtual/remote. If there is anything you need, please do not hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, text or call me at 919-491-3630, or contact your child’s teacher. There are tons of updates on the school website including the new schedules for virtual and face-to-face, lunch menu, specials rotation, and more. I am truly appreciative of our school family’s support, patience, and love.

This is a reminder that you will need to use the DPS Symptoms Screener every day your child comes for in-person learning. If we have a valid email on file for you, you will receive an email with your personal link. You can also log in with your child’s PowerSchool Student ID number on your school website. That is also the number that your child uses for Canvas. If you cannot locate your Student ID, please contact your child’s teacher. The screener link can be found on the Bethesda and DPS websites. A quick link to get it is http://bit.ly/DPSDailySymptomsScreener. It is case-sensitive.
On tomorrow, before a bus rider can get on the bus, he/she must have a bus attestation form completed by a parent/guardian. This form only needs to be completed once. A copy of the form can be found on the Bethesda and DPS websites. There are also some copies at the school’s front door. Feel free to come by to grab one this afternoon.
If your child is face-to-face, it is important that your child bring his/her charged computer and charger every day. Also, please send in your child’s school supplies. Students are unable to share supplies so it is important that your child has his/her own. If you need assistance, please contact our School Social Worker Ms. Wamugi.
We welcome donations of hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, Kleenex, masks, erasers, pencils, and crayons.
This week, we’d like to shoutout the following Bulldogs:
- Ms. Mullican would like to recognize Kevin for always being willing to ask questions and for explanation when he doesn't understand! He leads the class in advocating for his own learning!
- Ms. Mullican would like to recognize Iori, Emily, and Jackson are always fully engaged in the lesson. They are known to stay on task and are always trying their best. Keep up the great work!
- Ms. Skillman would like to recognize Abdule. He is new to Bethesda but is working hard on his iReady and other Canvas assignments! Way to go Abdule! We are very proud of your hard work!
This concludes the Principal's Weekly Spotlight. Have a great evening!
