Principal's Weekly Spotlight - 1/17/2021

Good evening! This is Dr. Moore-Lawrence, proud Principal of Bethesda Elementary with the Principal’s Weekly Spotlight for the week of January 18th. This Wednesday, we will watch the inauguration of the President and Vice-President of the United States, Joe Biden Jr. and Kamala Harris.  This historical event in the same week as the national holiday set aside to recognize the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  I would like to share two of my favorite quotes from Dr. King. The first quote is “Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?!” and quote two is “The time is always right to do what is right.”  As we embark upon the third week of 2021, let’s recommit to helping others in any and every way we can and always doing what is right.  2021 is just getting started!  How will you make an impact in your family, career, and community?

We are grateful for the families that participated in last week’s STEM Hour and the Exceptional Children’s (EC) Family Resource Night. We look forward to hosting other events to connect and engage our staff, students, and families.

This week is the last week for students to complete the the iReady Middle of Year Assessment in Reading and Math. Please remember that this assessment lets us know where your child is at this point in the school year.  Please allow your child to take the assessment independently.  Please do not assist your child by reading the assessment, giving them answers, or showing them how to complete the problems.  We appreciate your support.
