Principal's Weekly Spotlight - 01/10/2021
Good evening! This is Dr. Moore-Lawrence, proud Principal of Bethesda Elementary with the Principal’s Weekly Spotlight for the week of January 11th. The quote of the week is “Stay positive! The only difference between a good day and a bad day is your attitude!” Make the choice to spread positivity everywhere you go.
On Thursday, January 7th, Durham Public School’s Board of Education unanimously voted to remain in Plan C for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. This means that instruction will continue online and students will not return to the school building. At Bethesda, we are committed to continuing to provide students with the best learning experience possible and will enhance the current way that we are doing so for Quarters 3 and 4. Stay tuned for additional information.
Families that registered for the January 12th STEM hour being held at 1:45 and requested a kit, may pick up the kit on Sunday, January 10th from 1:00 to 3:00 or Monday, January 11th from 4:00 to 6:00 in the front of the school by the flagpole. It will be a contactless pick up.
This week, students will continue to take the iReady Middle of Year Assessment in Reading and Math. Please remember that this assessment lets us know where your child is at this point in the school year. Please allow your child to take the assessment independently. Please do not assist your child by reading the assessment, giving them answers, or showing them how to complete the problems. We appreciate your support with this.
