Principal's Weekly Spotlight - 01/03/2021

Good evening! This is Dr. Moore-Lawrence, proud Principal of Bethesda Elementary with the Principal’s Weekly Spotlight for the week of January 4th. Happy New Year!  Hope you enjoyed time with those you loved, are well rested, and ready to make 2021 the best year ever. The quote of the week is “This is the beginning of anything you want.”  Whatever you want, you have an entire year to go get it.  Stay focused, determined, and strong!

 

Week in Review Highlights (Please note that this list may not be exhaustive)

Monday, January 4th

*This is a remote learning day for students and workday for staff. Students should login to Canvas and complete the assignments listed.  Please be sure to check Class Dojo as well for additional information.

 

Wednesday, January 6th

*Don’t forget that students are to attend Morning Meeting every day, including Wellness Wednesday activities.  This week’s Wellness Wednesday topic is “Ringing in the New Year Motivated and Ready to Grow!”. Please check out the school website for the Zoom information and additional details.

*Extra-Curricular Clubs (Each Club Has a Schedule of Dates; Please Note That All Clubs Don’t Meet Every Week)

 

Have you registered for the January 12th STEM Hour that will be held at @ 1:45 p.m.?  Check out the school website for the link to register and reserve your material kit for pick up:

  • K-2 creating winter catapults
  • 3-5 exploring magnets and mazes

Ms. Skillman recognized 3rd grade student Aria R. Aria is a leader in the classroom. She is constantly in class and she is an active participant. Thank you Aria!

 

Ms. Coffrin recognized 4th grade student Riley RW. Ms. Coffrin is so proud of Riley for always working hard and participating in NearPod and class discussions. Riley is a great leader! Keep up the great work! 

 

Ms. Coffrin recognized 4th grade student Na’Kyla J. Ms. Coffrin is so proud of the way you have stepped up and become a leader in your class! You are always participating in class discussions and ready to learn. Keep doing an awesome job!

 

Ms. Coffrin recognized 4th grade student Iker GC. Ms. Coffrin is so proud of you for how much you have grown so far this year. You are ready to learn and regularly participate in class. Keep up the great work!

 

Ms. Coffrin recognized 4th grade student Carmelo L. Thank you for always participating and completing your work in class. You are always participating in the class NearPods! I am so proud of you! Keep up the great work! 

 

Ms. Coffrin recognized 4th grade student Maleana T. Maleana is always participating in class discussions whether it is on NearPod or being asked to talk aloud. I am so proud of her for always working hard. Keep up the great work!

 

Ms. Martin recognized 4th grade student Carnelius M. During class, his teacher got kicked out of the meeting and he became the host automatically, he immediately told his classmates, took two of their suggestions to stay on, muted everyone, continued the math video they were watching, took a brain break and then he asked them all to turn off their cameras while they waited. Carnelius showed great leadership and made sure learning continued in a safe way.

 

Ms. Chojkiewicz recognized 5th grade student Pedro IC. Pedro is a real Bethesda leader in coming to class on time every day and being very enthusiastic toward learning. Pedro learns many new things every day! Ms. C loves your academic growth. Thank you, Pedro!

 

The ESL Team recognized 2nd grade student Christian & 4th grade student Charlie T. The ESL Team would like to shout out for Charlie and Christian T. for their active participation in the ESL Holiday Celebration. You do not need to be an English Learner, but you need to have enthusiasm and eagerness to learn new things and you can do everything! Thank you for having a growth mindset and this approach toward learning, Christian and Charlie!
