General Meeting Thursday, September 12, at 6pm.
Electronic Device Policy: a discussion was had regarding revisiting and enforcing the district policy regarding use of electronic devices during the instructional day. This policy enforcement would start the Fall of 2018.
Curriculum Updates: Starting Fall 2018, classes that count as 2 credit hours are no longer eligible to be used as dual enrollment to meet the credit requirements for High School. Mrs. Rankins discussed the options that are being. Please contact Mrs. Rankins for questions and concerns.
School Improvement Team: School Improvement Team must be in place for the 2019-2020 school year. Nominations have been received and votes will be casted following the PTSA meeting. Meetings with the SIT will begin in September. Team will meet once a month. SIT is the driving force behind ECHS in developing goals regarding student achievement and monitoring the climate of the school.

Membership into the J. D. Clement ECHS PTSA can be completed and paid online. Dues are $10 per member or complete the form and leave in a sealed envelope in the school's front office with "PTSA" written on the envelope

One time financial donation- The PTSA is sponsoring a "Give $25" campaign for families friends and the Durham community to financially support the needs of our students teachers provided by the PTSA. Giving $25 is a minimal contribution to ECHS when the overall cost of two years of college credits is calculated. Giving $25 says 'thank you for allowing us to save $22,903 over two years!' ECHS T-shirts. – Order your ECHS T-shirt today! Currently, the PTSA is selling white short-sleeved t-shirts for $10 and maroon short sleeved t-shirts for $15. An additional $2 is added to each cost of 2x, 3x and 4x sizes. Orders may be placed and paid for online.
Freshmen Breakfast: The PTSA welcomes the incoming Freshmen class with a special breakfast. Volunteers assist with serving students with a warm smile, while PTSA members donate delicious items to serve. When: October 8th, 2019 Where: ECHS Cafeteria Time: During Triple A 10:20AM - 10:50AM
Annual Eagle Giving Tree: The PTSA offers the opportunity for the student body and families to give over the holiday season. A wishlist of special items is provided to the PTSA membership and the kindness of donated gifts allows others to have a wonderful and memorable holiday.
Annual Barnes & Noble Book Fair and Music Fest: In conjunction with the ECHS Music Club, the PTSA co sponsors a holiday book fair, gift wrapping and music performance event. Barnes & Noble book vouchers are provided to the student body to share with family and friends. A portion of book sales for the scheduled day will go towards the PTSA in order to support school wide need
