Frederick X. Ravin, III, was born in Pittsburgh, PA but, raised in Durham, NC since the age of 6 by his parents Frederick X. Ravin Jr. and Lois D. Harvin-Ravin, both Veterans of the United States Army. He is the husband to Samantha Ravin and father of two Durham Public School students. Frederick holds (3) degrees from North Carolina Central University (NCCU); BBA in Finance, as well as Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Master of Information Science (MIS) in Strategic Information Management. He also attained a BS in Marketing from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University.

His career trajectory has afforded him experience across both the financial and information technology sectors. Currently Frederick serves as the IT Governance & Budget Development Manager for the City of Durham’s Technology Solutions department. He has been a public sector employee for over 10+ years. Additionally, he is a small business owner, who has served as a consultant for various small businesses and nonprofit entities with a focus on solution development.
