Good afternoon, Pirate families,

This is Principal Woods-Weeks calling with the weekly update. It is hard to believe that the school year is almost over!  We are expecting a strong finish for all! Let's keep the main thing the main thing as we begin final exams this week.

All first period exams will be administered tomorrow. Please arrive to school on time prepared to test. Get a good night sleep and eat a hearty breakfast. In fact, it’s okay to go to bed now! I know you will do well because you have been prepared well. Second period exams will be administered on Tuesday; third period exams will be administered Wednesday; and fourth period exams administered on Thursday. Friday is the makeup date if needed. We want a 100% participation rate for all exams. So please show up and show out. Be ready!

Congratulations and bravo to Mr. Christopher and the journalism students for the great work they have produced this year in partnership with UNC’s Ida B. Wells Society. If you haven’t read the article in the Indy Week, please do so.  Keep up the good work!

This week Riverside reported one positive COVID case, three close contacts were identified, and there were no class closures. Communication to families whose students were identified as close contacts has been completed. If you have not already been personally contacted, it means your student was NOT in close contact with any of the COVID-19 cases.

Your student may come to school unless they are feeling sick or exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19. Please know we continue to take all precautions necessary to protect the health and safety of our students and staff. Thank you.
