Driver's Education: Reopened Virtually

 Durham Public Schools will reopen Driver Education through a virtual classroom format. The three-week (fifteen-days) class will begin on November 30, 2020 with two-hours daily of online instruction for a total of 30 required hours. 

 

The registration window for the Driver Education Classroom will open November 16 at 8:00am and will close on November 20 at 5:00pm. Parents/students should check the DPS web page on November 16 at 8:00am to sign up (www.dpsnc.net).  Click on “Programs and Services” and then “Driver Education” and then  “Registration Information.”

 

Students will be selected for the Driver’s Education course by age..oldest to youngest!  Students will be notified on Monday, November 23 if they are selected for the November 30 Driver Education course.  If not selected, students will be put on a waiting list for the next class in late January 2021.

 

To be eligible for Driver Education, the student must be 14 ½ years of age at time of registration in order to take the class.
