Virtual Computational Biology Summer Camp

Students/parents interested in STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medicine) fields? Our camp is not a one-time summer event; it serves as a launchpad for students who go on to participate in the miRcore volunteer program (MVP), which campers are invited to join.

We have five years of extensive experience teaching online, ranging from interactive instruction and guiding small group research to group bonding games. Students can safely socialize during the miRcore online summer camp as they broaden their knowledge and gain awareness of career paths in STEMM.

*MVP is free and meets every weekend throughout the academic year (Sept-May) for two hours with both in-person (regional: Ann Arbor, MI and San Diego, CA) and online groups (nation-wide). Our students learn more about computational biology, programming, research, teamwork, and community outreach, as well as leadership.
**We, miRcore (, have been holding science summer camps at the University of Michigan since 2013; the Scripps Research Translational Institute in San Diego since 2016, and at Georgia Tech since 2019.
