Good afternoon RHS families, this is Dr. Woods-Weeks calling with the weekly update.

Congratulations to the Women’s Swim Team for an incredible week, defeating both Chapel Hill and Jordan! Special recognition to first-place finishers David Ritchey in the 200 IM and Chloe Mihaly in the 50 Free and 100 Free. Outstanding performances by the 200 and 400 Women’s A Relays, with Chloe Mihaly, Maeve Quigley, Anastasia Willis, Aubree Spreitzer, Evelyn Walters, and Olivia Schonwalder bringing home victories. Amazing job, Pirates!

Kudos to the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams for sweeping Durham School of the Arts in their games. Keep up the winning momentum!

Attention Seniors and Families!
The 2025-2026 FAFSA form is officially open! If you haven’t started yet, now is the time to create your accounts and begin the form. Both the student and a parent/legal guardian will need to create separate accounts at studentaid.gov using different email addresses. Please complete this step as soon as possible!

Additionally, remember that many college application deadlines are quickly approaching in January for popular NC schools such as UNC-Chapel Hill and NC State University. Winter Break is an excellent time to work on these applications and ensure they’re ready to submit.

Dance Announcement:
Join us for the Riverside Dance Concert, The Land of Sweets (the story of Clara and the Nutcracker Prince), this Thursday and Friday, December 12th and 13th, at 7 PM. Tickets are $8, cashless, and available at GoFan.

Attention Seniors!
The final makeup day for Senior Portraits is on Tuesday, December 12th, from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM in the lower-level gym. Strawbridge will provide professional photography services, and students will be supplied with the appropriate attire for their portraits. The yearbook staff will be on hand to assist with attire.
A Sign-Up Genius form has been shared with all seniors, so please be sure to sign up and secure your spot.
