Good afternoon RHS families,

This is Dr. Woods-Weeks calling with the weekly update. I hope you had a fantastic Spring Break and are ready to sprint towards the finish line. This week is a four-day week for students. Monday, April 1, 2024, is a Teacher Workday. No school for students. School will resume Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the regular time. It is the first day of the last quarter in this semester.

Report cards will be distributed Monday, April 8, 2024.

National Honor Society

"The application window for Riverside's National Honor Society opened on March 20th, 2024. Sophomores and Juniors with at least a 3.0 weighted GPA received an email to their DPS email with instructions on how to apply. The application closes on Friday, April 5th at 11:59 pm. Students must also get a teacher recommendation - see the email or your homeroom teacher for a paper copy. Reach out to Ms. Watson at victoria_watson@dpsnc.net if you have questions."

COLLEGE ADVISING

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Friday, April 5th at 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM: College and Career Fair
•    Riverside High School with be hosting a Spring College and Career Fair. Several NC public and private schools will be present. Stay tuned for more details to come.

ATHLETICS UPDATE
Tuesday April 2, 2024, Riverside athletics has the following contest: JV Soccer will host Durham Charter Academy at 5:00 p.m. and Varsity will host Christo Rey at 6:45 p.m.

Wednesday, April 3, 2024, there will be a Double Header against Cary High School, women's Lacrosse will start at 5:00 p.m. and Men's lacrosse is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.  The men's game winner will be announced as the winner of the Kirkley Cup. The tennis team will host Durham Academy at 4:30, and Softball will travel to Enloe.

Thursday April 4, 2024, women's Soccer will host Enloe. JV at 5:00 p.m. Varsity at 6:45 p.m. Also, the Golf team will travel to Chapel Hill.

Friday April 5th: Men’s Lacrosse will host Vance Charter School at 6:00 p.m., and Softball will Host New Bern at 5:00 p.m.   and the Track and Field and JV Men’s Lacrosse will complete in an away contest on April 6th .

Tickets can be purchased by card or online at TICKETS.  All DPS athletic events observe a "Clear Bag Only" policy in conjunction with no Re-Entry.  For more information about winter sports please visit https://riversideathleticzone.com/
