Good afternoon RHS families, this is Dr. Woods-Weeks calling with the weekly update,

Congratulations to our Career Development Coordinator, Ms. Sheena Brooks, for her selection as one of the nation's top 10 advisors of the Chick Fil A Leader Academy!  For her efforts, Ms. Brooks was flown to Atlanta last week where she was awarded a $10,000 check for Riverside's chapter, as well as an iPad for her own use. Job well done Ms. Brooks!

Also, congratulations to Ms. Kayla Thompson on her selection as a PTA Pirate Hero Award.

This week is going to be a non-eventful week. We have just five days left before spring break. Spring Break is the week of March 25-29, 2024.

The end of the third quarter is Friday, March 22, 2024.

As a reminder:

A senior meeting will be held regarding graduation on Wednesday, March 20th at 10:45 in the auditorium. Students govern yourselves accordingly.

      - This opportunity if only for Seniors that have applied to NC State and Juniors. If you are interested in attending, please complete the interest form here. Completion of the form does not guarantee a spot on the trip. You must meet the minimum requirements. Please see Ms. Harris with any questions.

Friday, April 5th at 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM: College and Career Fair
•    Riverside High School with be hosting a Spring College and Career Fair. Several NC public and private schools will be present. Stay tuned for more details to come.

ATHLETICS UPDATE

Congratulations to the Riverside Softball Team who defeated Southern Durham over the weekend, and the Men's Lacrosse team as they defeated Voyager in the Kirkley Cup. They will play Cary High School for the championship later in the season.

Monday March18, 2024 Riverside athletics has the following contest: Softball will host Carrboro, and Tennis will Host East Chapel Hill, and the Golf team will travel to Chapel Hill.

Tuesday, March 19th, Women's Lacrosse will host Northern Guilford, and Baseball and Softball will host Hillside.

Wednesday March 20th Baseball will host DSA, and Soccer will host Seaforth.

Thursday March 21st Men’s Lacrosse will host RCS, and the Track and Field will compete at Chapel Hill.

Spring Break vibes Ahead! As we bid farewell to textbooks and lectures, it’s time to welcome the sunshine and adventure! Whether you are jetting off to a tropical paradise or chilling at home with loved ones, make this Spring Break one for the books.
